Drum Lessons:
I’ve been a professional touring and session drummer since moving to LA in 2017, and I have almost 20 years of total experience with playing in bands and recording drums.
In lessons, I like to focus on what I consider the most important aspects of drumming:
– having an excellent feel and control of dynamics
– developing an accurate sense of time and “staying in the pocket”
– listening well and interacting spontaneously with other musicians
– having a solid foundation of technique that will allow you to grow and find your own style.
I’m not so interested in teaching students to be the fastest and most impressive drummers; in my opinion it’s much more important to be a well-rounded and creative musician who understands the role of the drums in the music they’re playing.
I’m open to all ages and skill levels, whether you’re a beginner starting from scratch or an intermediate player who wants to work on something very specific.

Mixing & Production Lessons
I’m a firm believer that anyone can record and mix their own music, and that you don’t need a lot of expensive gear to make it sound great. I love to demystify the recording and mixing processes, making them accessible to everyone.
I’m open to all ages and skill levels. If you’re just beginning to record your own music, I can walk you through all the essential steps of recording, arranging and mixing a song. If you have experience with recording and/or mixing but are hitting a wall and finding it hard to get the sound you want, I can offer ideas to break through.
I focus on the creative and joyful aspects of making music rather than rules and technical jargon. Ultimately there is no “right” or “wrong” when it comes to creating music, but understanding your tools will allow you to make things that you could only imagine otherwise.
For a partial list of music that I’ve worked on, check out my Mixing / Mastering page and my Producing / Arranging page.
